August 2002, found us traveling around the Gaspé Peninsula. Pencils, paint and camera in hand, we weathered violent windstorms against our tents in the middle of the night and paintings in progress blasted into the sand by relentless winds. Despite moody atmospheric conditions we found the Gaspé region unique in the mountain and rock formations and the rugged coastline. I am particularly fascinated by the vivid colors presented in layers sculpted by eons of ebbs and falls of the ocean tide.
